About The Author

Hello! I am Sophia Petricoin, a senior at Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia. I will be attending the University of Maryland, College Park, studying Early Education and English. I have always loved music from childhood, whether that be playing an instrument, singing, or even just listening to music! I decided to take my passion for the art and research the impact that women have had on the music industry. I enjoyed getting to know more about these popular artists, and especially about how greatly the industry has been influenced by these accomplished women. I believe it is important to acknowledge the depth of women's influence on music and their incredible successes. There is much to be learned from them, and still much more to be uncovered!
